Match recap
Barbados Tridents batted first and did almost everything right. Quinton de Kock made 106 from 57 balls, Zachary Carter added 57 from 36, and Barbados finished on 217 for 4. In most T20 matches that is a winning score, and for most of the chase it looked like it would be again.
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots chased at more than eleven runs an over from the start and never let the required rate drift away. Johnson Charles, named player of the match, made 78 from 45 balls and gave the chase its shape: not a single wild swing, but a steady flow of boundaries that kept Barbados under pressure.
The finish was the difference. Andre Fletcher finished unbeaten on 22 from 8 balls and Wanindu Hasaranga made 18 from 4 balls, so the last overs did not become a scramble. St Kitts reached 220 for 4 in 19.1 overs, winning by six wickets with five balls remaining.
This is a good example of why a big total alone does not win a T20. Barbados had the century and the total, but St Kitts had the deeper finish and the calmer last five overs, and in a 218 chase that is usually what decides it.
